Annapurna Himalaya Short Trekking, an ideal and perfect country walk for all age groups especially for people with interest in outdoor activities as well to be close to the Himalayan mountain range.
This will be the right choice to enjoy a short and easy trek around the southern hills of Annapurna, although all Himalaya region have ups and downhill to encounter on this trek it will be for short hours, where high and strenuous passes do not involve on this lovely trek around green hills of Annapurna Himalaya.
An adventure of short moderate grade walks where elevation gains at gradually up to maximum height of 2,150 m just short moments, but every hard climb rewards you with breathtaking views of the massive Annapurna Himalayan mountain range.
Annapurna Himalaya Short Trekking begins from scenic Pokhara city and its lovely valley surrounded by tiers of green hills with Annapurna Himalaya peaks towards the north that reflects on the surface of calm Phewa and Begnas Lakes.
From Pokhara a short drive takes you at the base of heavily farmed hills with rows of terrace fields, to reach at large Gurung village in Ghandruk after few hours of climbs, Ghandruk the gateway to many trekking and adventure destinations around Annapurna Himalaya.
The native Gurung are farmers and raise live stocks, but also regarded as famous Gorkha soldiers in foreign legions such as in UK and India and some in Singapore police as well.
After an enjoyable time in Ghandruk return journey takes you down and ups past lovely villages Landruk, Tolka, and Potana and then into the cool shade of lovely rhododendron and pine forest to reach Australian Camp.
The local early name is Thulo Kharka, which means a summer grazing pasture field for cattle offers a spectacular panorama of white snow peaks of Annapurna Himalaya with stunning sunrise views.
Slowly adventure comes to an end as the walk takes you to a hilly ridge at Dhampus village to end the walk facing marvelous views of Annapurna Himalaya, and then on a short drive back to Pokhara to complete our fabulous Annapurna Himalaya Short Trekking.
Best time for Annapurna Himalaya Short Trekking:
Nearly all months of the year, except in monsoon/summer times during wet and rainy months from mid-June to August. The best season’s spring and autumn/fall and winter times, spring from March to May when wild-flowers are in blooming season with other various species of beautiful wildflowers.

Next good months from September to February during autumn/fall and winter seasons, when days are at its best with super clear blue sky for a magnificent panorama of snow-capped peaks. Day 01: Main arrival in Kathmandu airport 1,320 m and transfer to hotel.
Day 02: Full day sightseeing tour in Kathmandu at places of interest.
Day 03: Drive (or fly) to Pokhara 860 m – 06 hours journey (30 mins by air)
Day 04: Drive past Nayapul start walk to Ghandruk village 1,940 m- 06 hrs.
Day 05: Trek to Tolka village 1,560 m past Landruk 1,530 m – 05 hrs.
Day 06: Trek to Australian Camp (Thulo Kharka) 2,050 m via Deurali Hill- 04 hrs.
Day 07: Short trek to Dhampus 1,430 m and drive to Pokhara- 02 hrs.
Day 08: Drive / Fly to Kathmandu and transfer to hotel.
Day 09: Depart Nepal for international departure homeward bound.

Morning after breakfast join in for a sightseeing tour around places of great cultural and historical interest where most old monuments are listed in world heritage sites.
Tour takes you in the main area of Kathmandu city visit old Durbar Square (palace courtyard), and towards the oldest Buddhist Stupa of Swayambhunath, and at the largest stupa of Bouddhanath includes a tour of Pashupatinath Temple.
After an interesting and enjoyable day back to the hotel with time for preparation for the Annapurna Himalaya Short trek and drive to Pokhara.
Enjoy early breakfast and then enjoy the overland journey to reach around Nepal at beautiful Pokhara, a renowned tourist city where most treks to Annapurna and Western Himalaya starts and ends.
Types of transport depending upon the size of the group in private cars, coach, or on the tourist bus to reach scenic Pokhara.
An interesting drive of 5 to 6 hours on 220 k.m distance, a great opportunity to observe Nepalese farm villages and towns as ride reach Pokhara transfer to respective hotels by the calm Phewa Lake. From Pokhara adventure begins with a short morning drive to reach on the outskirt of Pokhara valley, facing glorious views of Annapurna, Manaslu, and Machhapuchare Fish Tail peaks.
Slowly drive reach at Nayapul (42 km from Pokhara) and further to start the first-day trek heading past lovely Bhirethati village, as drive follows Modi River an hour to reach at Syali Bazaar.
On reaching the start point of our walk, where the route leads to climb on a winding path through farm areas and the nice village of Kimche, as trek progress towards the higher area, where air gets much cooler to reach at large Ghandruk village for overnight stop.
Morning at leisure tour of Ghandruk, one of the largest Gurung village around Annapurna Himalaya range, the Gurung are hill tribe follows Buddhism religion as well famous as Gorkha soldiers in foreign legion, like in British and Indian armies.
By profession, they are farmers and raising livestock, where a short tour of the Gurung museum will be a perfect place to gather more information about the Gurung culture and history, as well as the whole Annapurna Himalaya region.
From Ghandruk second day walk on a long downhill with stone steps to reach at Modi River, and then climb to Landruk village for a short refreshing stop as the walk continues on a nice gradual winding path to reach at lovely Tolka village for an overnight stop.
From the lodge at Tolka enjoy grand views of Annapurna South and Huin-Chuli peaks, after breakfast on the road but today a short day trek to reach at scenic top at Australian Camp, also called Thulo Kharka, means large cattle grazing field and shelter of Shepard.
Morning starts on a nice level path to reach at Bheda Kharka, located at the base of Deurali hilltop covered with dense vegetation and tall trees of rhododendron, oaks, and pines.
Climb towards Deurali for an hour to reach on the highest point of the trek at above 2,150 m high a place with few simple tea-house and lodge offers superb views of Dhaulagiri, Annapurna Himalaya peaks with majestic Machhapuchare Himal the famous Fish Tail peak, includes views of Ghandruk village as well.
After an exciting scenery to enjoy an easy downhill walk through the cool shade of the forest to reach at Potana, a nice little village with many good lodge after a short rest continue to walk with less than hour climb to reach our overnight stop in a beautiful hilltop at Australian Camp and Thulo Kharka.
A place with a wide field surrounded by dense forest with a few nice hotels and lodge for travelers, a beautiful scenic spot for a wonderful panorama of Annapurna, Manaslu, and Lamjung Himal with Machhapuchare Himal and tip of Dhaulagiri peaks.
The last and final day of trekking, morning enjoy sunrise views with Annapurna and Manaslu Himalaya range, after breakfast walk downhill to Dhampus another large and lovely Gurung village where you can catch super views of Mid-West Himalayan peaks, and then board in a vehicle to reach Pokhara, drive takes you within low warm farm areas.
A short journey of an hour enters Pokhara valley and the city area then head towards Phewa Lakeside, where most good hotels are located. Check into respective hotels with time for a short afternoon walk.
After overnight at beautiful Pokhara by its serene lake along with fantastic views of Annapurna Himalaya, enjoy early breakfast and depart from the hotel for the exciting overland journey on an interesting highway to reach back at Kathmandu.
On checking into your hotel rooms, with time in the afternoon for individual activities and shopping.
Evening enjoy last day farewell group dinner in a nice Nepalese restaurants with Nepalese folk dance programs to entertain you while with your last dinner in Nepal.
