A lovely village located amidst beautiful rhododendron and pine forest at the base of scenic Poon Hill, where next early morning an hour hike reaches you at a super viewpoint on top Poon Hill, the highest spot of the adventure.

From Poon Hill and Ghorepani after an enjoyable stay, the return route takes you on an alternative and scenic path through a lovely forest of rhododendron and pine trees as marvelous mountain views follow all the way.
Trek downhill with a few short climb as the route leads at Jhinu village a place with a natural hot spring to enjoy refreshing dips and bathe in warm pools, and this village is also situated on route to Chomrong and Annapurna Base Camp.

Best time for Around Ghorepani and Poon Hill Trekking:
Nearly all months of the year, except the wet monsoon months of June to August where heavy rain clouds will obstruct the views of the mountain, and the trail gets muddy.
The best and most popular season is spring and autumn times, spring from March to May when wild-flowers are in seasonal bloom with other species of beautiful flowers. Makes the trek more enjoyable and interesting with the backdrop of clear mountain views.
Next good months from September to early December during autumn and pre-winter seasons, when days are at its best with super clear blue sky for a magnificent panorama of snow-capped peaks. From Pokhara our adventure begins with a short morning drive to reach the outskirts of Pokhara valley, facing glorious views of Annapurna, Manaslu, and Machhapuchare Fish Tail peaks.
Slowly drive reach Nayapul (42 km from Pokhara) and continues further past lovely Bhirethati village, as hilly tracks lead on the old Trans Himalaya Salt and Caravan route of Nepal to Tibet.
An exciting drive heading ups overlooking beautiful waterfalls at Tirkhedhunga, as the route winds up to reach at Ulleri for first overnight stop, facing views of Annapurna South and tips of Machhapuchare Himal.
From Ulleri village onward air gets much cooler at the height of 2, 080 m from here on till Ghorepani village populated by Poon, Magar the hill tribe of Western Nepal, after Ulleri on a winding path into beautiful forest-lined with rhododendron, magnolia, oaks, pines, and firs trees.
Finally, the day ends on reaching at Ghorepani for an overnight stop at the height of 2,880 m, offers super views of world 7th high Mt. Dhaulagiri 8, 167 m, with Tukuche, Nilgiri, Annapurna South and Huin-Chuli peaks.

Early morning start with an hour uphill hike to reach at Poon Hill, the highest point of the adventure which is above 3, 210 m / 10, 531 feet high, offers spectacular views of the sunrise over an uninterrupted Western Himalaya Mountain range.

From Ghorepani climb to a hill at Deurali almost the same height of Poon Hill with fabulous views of snow peaks, and then descend to a gorge to a place called Bhanthati another village, with the same name as the earlier one.
After a possible lunch break on the downhill to a stream with the last climb of the day to reach at Tadapani for overnight stop, a small settlement with many good lodge with fantastic close views of Annapurna South, Machhapuchare Himal, and a range of peaks.
Machhapuchare Himal, morning walk starts on long downhill to reach Gurja Gaon a village near above Kimrong Khola valley on route to Chomrong and Jhinu village.
Walk takes you into deep cool alpine woods with much descend to reach a bridge over Kimrong River, and then climb for few hours to reach a nice level path with time for a refreshing break, continue afternoon walk on downhill to Jhinu, a nice small village with refreshing natural hot spring just 30 minutes’ walk to reach the warm pools near on the bank of Modi River
Morning downhill on stone steps to cross over Modi River on a suspension bridge and then on a gradual path through farm areas, and then climb to Landruk village for a short refreshing stop.
From Landruk walk continues on a nice gradual winding path to reach a lovely Tolka village for an overnight stop
From the lodge at Tolka enjoy grand views of Annapurna South and Huin-Chuli peaks, after breakfast on the road but today a short day trek to reach at scenic top at Australian Camp, also called Thulo Kharka, means large cattle grazing field and shelter of Shepard.
Morning starts on a nice level path to reach at Bheda Kharka, located at the base of Deurali hilltop covered with dense vegetation and tall trees of rhododendron, oaks, and pines.
Climb towards Deurali for an hour to reach on top at 2,150 m high a place with few simple tea-house and lodge offers superb views of Dhaulagiri, Annapurna Himalaya peaks with majestic Machhapuchare Himal the famous Fish Tail peak, includes views of Ghandruk village as well.
After an exciting scenery to enjoy an easy downhill walk through the cool shade of the forest to reach at Potana, a nice little village with many good lodge after a short rest continue to walk with less than hour climb to reach our overnight stop in a beautiful hilltop at Australian Camp and Thulo Kharka.

The last and final day of trekking, morning enjoy sunrise views with Annapurna and Manaslu Himalaya range, after breakfast walk downhill to Dhampus another large and lovely Gurung village where you can catch super views of Mid-West Himalayan peaks, and then board in a vehicle to reach Pokhara, drive takes you within low warm farm areas.
A short journey of an hour enters Pokhara valley and the city area then head towards Phewa Lakeside, where most good hotels are located. Check into respective hotels with time for a short afternoon walk.
After overnight at beautiful Pokhara by its serene lake along with fantastic views of Annapurna Himalaya, enjoy early breakfast and depart from the hotel for the exciting overland journey on an interesting highway to reach back at Kathmandu.
