Annapurna Circuit Trek starts with an exciting drive to reach Nepal Mid-West low country around Lamjung district at Besisar town and further up to hill village of Jagat, where walks begin towards the northern side of massif Annapurna Himalaya.

As trek progress heading towards higher elevation within lovely cool forest lined with rhododendron, oaks, firs and pine trees, and through nice villages of Chamje, Tal and Dharapani to reach at large town in Chame, the headquarter of Manang region.

From here onward air gets cooler walking into alpine woodland following Masrsyangdi River upstream right up to its glacial source near Manang valley, surrounded by towering Annapurna IV, A-II and A-III with Gangapurna and Chulu group of peaks.

At Manang village for acclimatization day with a short scenic hike around visit old Braga Monastery, enriched with ancient idols of Buddhism religion in the backdrop of the sweeping panorama of snow mountain range.

Enjoying rest day in Manang main village, from here onward into dry and windswept terrain. Walk takes you at the end of valley rim at High Camp, for last overnight stop within the Manang area before high climb on top Thorang-La Pass.

Starting early morning after hearty breakfast, a steep winding climb reaches you on the highest point of the adventure at Thorang-La Pass, located above 5, 416 m, and 17, 769 feet high. 

Spectacular mountain panorama to enjoy from this high spot overlooking grand views of Dhaulagiri, Damodar Himal with Chulu’s and Annapurna Himalaya range of peaks.

On reaching the tallest point of the adventure where long descend takes you to another district at Mustang, a beautiful and scenic country of arid and barren landscapes. As walk reach you at Muktinath, a holy spot with Hindu temple and Buddhist monastery, where thousands of Hindu and Buddhism pilgrims pay homage all around the year for worship at holy Muktinath temple.

Annapurna Circuit Trek takes a different turn from here onward where the journey leads from dry and barren terrain heading into low warm farm areas of Kaligandaki River valley. Where you can enjoy dramatic views of Dhaulagiri and its Ice-Fall with Annapurna peaks. 

As elevation drops from Jomsom town and charming Marpha and Tukuche villages towards the world deepest gorge of Kaligandaki River sandwiched between towering Dhaulagiri and Annapurna mountain range.

Trekkers will be surprised to be in the low warm farm country after being in the arctic zone of ice and glacier just in a matter of few days, with an overnight stop in Tatopani, a nice village with natural hot spring.

Enjoying a refreshing moment in the hot spring at Tatopani, a final day climb of the adventure takes you back into cooler high hills covered in lovely rhododendron and pine forest to reach at scenic Ghorepani village.

Ghorepani a popular village among trekkers for a short scenic walk, located on the foot of high Poon Hill famous for breathtaking sunrise views over an array of world highest peaks.

The next morning a short climb to Poon Hill for stunning sunrise with a panorama of the Himalayan range, which includes Dhaulagiri, Nilgiris with Annapurna, and majestic Machhapuchare Himal the famous Fish-Tail peaks, the view extends towards Manaslu Himalaya in the east direction.

Slowly our trek completes, after enjoying fabulous sunrise and views of the whole Western Himalaya range, the walk continues on the long downhill to reach at beautiful Pokhara by its calm Phewa Lake in the backdrop of Annapurna Himalaya.

Truly a great picturesque place Pokhara, where our adventure concludes after a marvelous scenic and cultural experience on Annapurna Circuit Trek. 

 

Best time for Annapurna Circuit Trekking:

The best time for Annapurna Circuit Trek, in spring and autumn seasons, spring from March to May when wild-flowers are in full bloom season with various species of rhododendron and other beautiful wildflowers. 

Makes the trek to more interesting in the backdrop of clear mountain views and pleasant scenic walks.

Next good months from September to November in autumn/fall season, when most days are super clear with blue sky for a magnificent panorama of snow-capped peaks. But days are short with sunlight hours can be much cold in the morning and evening time, with bright starry night sky.

Please Note:

On Annapurna Circuit route from Besisar town / Lamjung district motor road has been constructed to Manang village, and on the other side of Lower Mustang from Muktinath. 

Where one can take a vehicle ridge to Tatopani village or further past Beni town to reach beautiful Pokhara city. We have skipped few day treks taking a ride on a dirt trail to Tatopani village from Muktinath. As the trek continues for few more days with a short drive in the end on a good road to Pokhara.

Day 1Main arrival in Kathmandu airport 1,320 m and transfer to hotel.

Main arrival in Kathmandu, Nepal via respective and various international airlines, you will be received by company staff and guide for a short drive to your hotels.

Located within the heart of Kathmandu city around interesting areas at Thamel, an exciting location where most good hotels are situated.

On reaching your hotel check into your rooms, after refreshing rest meet the other members of the trek on the hotel lobby where our guide/leader will brief you regarding do’s and don’ts during your time in Nepal and on treks.

Provides information on local cultures and other necessary details to make your stay in Nepal enjoyable. Evening enjoy welcome dinner with all members of Annapurna Base Camp and Scenic Sanctuary Trek, in a nice authentic Nepalese restaurant.

Day 2Full day sightseeing tour in Kathmandu at places of interest.

Morning after breakfast join in for sightseeing tour around places of great cultural and historical interest where most old monuments listed in world heritage sites.

Tour takes you in the main area of Kathmandu city visit old Durbar Square (palace courtyard), and towards oldest Buddhist Stupa of Swayambhunath, and at the largest stupa of Bouddhanath includes tour of Pashupatinath Temple.

After an interesting and enjoyable day back to the hotel with time for preparation for the trek and drive to Pokhara. 

Day 3Drive to Jagat via Besisar headquarter town of Lamjung - 06 hours.

Annapurna Circuit Trek start taking an exciting long drive to reach Nepal Mid-West, where drive leads on the main country’s highway through many farm villages and towns to reach at Besisar town.

 

Besisar headquarter town of Lamjung district, from here continue to drive on dirt  rough road past nice farm villages of Khudi and Bulbule to reach at Syange following Masrsyangdi River upstream.

Syange a small farm village where drive continues with a climb to reach at Jagat a nice farm village facing views of cascading waterfalls for an overnight stop in its nice country lodge.

Day 4Trek to Dharapani 1, 945 m- 05 hrs.

From Jagat, our adventure begins with a pleasant walk on winding gradual uphill above Masrsyangdi River to reach at Chamje village, after a short refreshing rest walk continue heading back to cross Masrsyangdi River.

Where route leads on a winding path to reach at Tal Besi, a nice village also the entrance to the district of Manang, starts from here, short drive to reach our overnight stop at Dharapani.

Dharapani a lovely village, on the junction of Annapurna and Manaslu circuit route with more of Tibetan Buddhism culture.

Day 5Trek to Chame 2, 720 m - 05 hrs

After Dharapani village route follows Masrsyangdi River upstream and into a nice cool forest of rhododendron and pine trees, to reach at Bagarchap and Danque, a nice small village with apple garden and grand views of Annapurna and Manaslu Himalaya.

Walk continues with climb to Timang village with super views of world 8th highest Mt. Manaslu 8,163 m towards east direction. 

From Timang village afternoon walks of few hours reach you at Chame for overnight halt, a major town and headquarter of Manang district.

Day 6 Trek to Pisang village 3,180 m -05 hrs.

Morning trek begins with a pleasant walk into cool coniferous forest as route leads closer to the mountainous area, continue trek within a lovely forest of rhododendron and pine trees, following Masrsyangdi River upstream with a climb on leaving the river to reach a small place on a hilltop.

A place with few nice teahouses and lodge with grand views of Chulu and Pisang peaks, here for a possible lunch stop and then down towards Manang valley to Pisang village for overnight stop. 

Day 7Trek to Manang 3,540 m - 04 hrs.

After Pisang village with stunning views of Chulu, Pisang Peak and Annapurna II, morning walk starts with a short climb to a high ridge, where you can enjoy views of Manang wide valley facing Annapurna II, A III and A-IV with Chulu and Pisang peaks.

From here downhill to reach Hongde and Braga villages with time for a short visit of Braga monastery, the oldest monastery of Manang enriched with ancient Buddhist relics, colorful painting, and frescos

As well enjoy super panorama of Annapurna Mountain range, from here short walk to Manang village for overnight stops.

Manang the main village of the area, located on route to Tilicho Lake and Thorang-La Pass with close views of Annapurna peaks and Chulu in the north, a lovely place for a rest day with excellent facilities for trekkers and cozy lodges.

Day 8At Manang free day for acclimatization and short excursion.

An extra or free day in Manang for necessary acclimatization before heading high  areas on top the highest spot at Thorang-La pass, while in Manang enjoy short  hike around Manang village, located on the windswept valley by the bank of  Masrsyangdi River, a mere distance from Annapurna and Gangapurna  Himalaya range.

Day 9Trek to Yak Kharka 4,110 m - 04 hrs.

Today a short day walk of few hours to reach a place called Yak Kharka, which means a grazing field for Yaks, at present with a nice good lodge for trekkers comfort overnight stop as well for a lunch break,

Walk follows on scenic wilderness along small farm villages facing grand views of Chulu West as the trail continues winding up to reach at Yak Kharka for lunch and overnight halt, a temporary settlement on route Thorang-La Pass.

Day 10Trek to Thorang- La High Camp 4,450 m - 04 hrs.

Another short day walk due to high altitude and thin air as elevation gains from Yak Kharka onward, from here on adventure takes you at the end of Manang Valley at the base of Thorang-La Pass.

Morning starts with slow pleasant walks on winding and near level trail to reach on the base of Thorang Phedi, a place with few lodge. From here having rest on steep trail up to reach at Thorang High Camp, for lunch and overnight halt.

Day 11Cross Thorang La 5, 416 m and trek to Muktinath 3,800 m- 06 hrs.

Start early morning to reach on the main highlight atop Thorang-La Pass, the highest point of the adventure. Where climb leads on winding steep uphill slope overlooking views of near Damodar and Chulu peaks.

As climb progress to reach at Thorang-La at 5,416 m, on top marked with thousands of colorful Buddhist prayer flags and with a signboard with heights and name of the pass.

At Thorang-la with refreshing stop to enjoy a fantastic panorama of towering high peaks that surrounds the scenic top.

A long descend with a drop of more than 1,600 meters downhill takes you on the other side of Thorang-La at holy site at Muktinath temple premises and nearby village within Mustang district for the overnight stop.  

Muktinath a holy pilgrimage place for both Hindus and Buddhists followers the name Muktinath means ‘a sacred destination for Nirvana or Liberation’.

Day 12Drive to Tatopani 1,100 m via Jomsom 2,715 m and Marpha - 04 hrs.

Walk from here stops for a day, at present due to accessibility of motor roads constructed decade ago, which makes trekking a few days shorter than in early times. 

Journey takes you on the long downhill to reach at Kaligandaki River valley and then head to Jomsom a large town and headquarter of Mustang district, as well the heart of Thakali. 

The main tribe of Lower Mustang and Kaligandaki River Valley, who has settled on this old Trans Himalayan Salt and Caravan trade route, since more than decades of centuries.

As journey continues past lovely Marpha and Tukuche villages famous for delicious apples, as the trail follows much lower through world deepest gorge of Kaligandaki River valley, situated in-between giant Mt. Dhaulagiri and Mt. Annapurna.

Finally, day completes on reaching the lovely village at Tatopani, means a place with natural hot-spring, where trekkers can refresh and soothe tiring body of the treks in nice warm pools at Tatopani.

Day 13Trek to Ghorepani 2,880 m-06 hrs.

From Tatopani walk continues leaving low warm farm villages with a climb towards cooler Himalayan hills to reach at scenic Ghorepani village, located amidst beautiful rhododendron forest.

The region listed as world’s largest natural rhododendron garden, which you can witness during springtime from March till May, when wildflowers are in full bloom.

Ghorepani also a popular spot for thousands of trekkers as it is situated on the foot of Poon Hill, famous for striking sunrise and panorama of wide-angle views of Himalayan peaks.

Day 14Hike to Poon Hill 3,210 and trek to Tirkhedhunga 1,460 m- 05 hrs.

At Ghorepani rising early morning for an hour hike up to Poon Hill at 3, 210 m / 10, 531 feet high, where you can catch stunning sunrise views over uninterrupted Himalaya Mountain range.

Panorama of mountains includes world 7th high Mt. Dhaulagiri, 8th highest Mt. Manaslu and 10th high Mt. Annapurna with Tukuche Peak (6, 920 m), Nilgiri (6,940 m), Vara-Shikar / Annapurna Fang (7,847 m), and Annapurna South (7,219 m), Annapurna- III (7,855 m), Machhapuchare Himal the Fish Tail Peak (6,993 m), extends towards the east with views of Annapurna IV (7,525 m), Annapurna II (7,937 m) and Lamjung Himal (6,931 m). 

Enjoying marvelous wide 360-degree panorama of Western Himalaya, walk from Ghorepani into beautiful cool rhododendron and pine forest with long descend to overnight stop at Tirkhedhunga, a village with cascading lovely water-falls.

Day 15Trek to the road head and drive to Pokhara-05 hrs.

This morning last and final day of the trek, after breakfast head downhill for few hours to reach on a road-head at lovely Bhirethati village or further to Nayapul town. 

Finally ending the walk for an exciting drive to Pokhara, the drive takes you around low warm farm area, as journey reach into Pokhara valley and its nice city for an overnight halt by the Phewa Lake Side.

Where most hotels, resorts with shops and stores located, Pokhara a premier touristic destination for world-wide travelers as well for domestic tourists due to its marvelous location with super mountain range and serene lakes.

Day 16Drive / Fly to Kathmandu and transfer to hotel.

After overnight at beautiful Pokhara by its serene lake along with fantastic views of Annapurna Himalaya, enjoy early breakfast and depart from the hotel for the exciting overland journey on interesting highway to reach back at Kathmandu.

On checking into your hotel rooms, with time in the afternoon for individual activities and shopping.

Evening enjoy last day farewell group dinner in a nice Nepalese restaurants with Nepalese folk dance programs to entertain you while with your last dinner in Nepal.

Day 17Depart Nepal for international departure homeward bound.
